I dont see whats wrong w/ just calling 22/55 if youre willing to make some moves on favorable flops (c/r, donk, etc..)
its like people dont know how to play past "right. 3bet pf, cbet flop... ohh [censored] he called. guess its time to check/fold."
just calling w/ a lot of these hands is totally fine/standard if youre willing to mix it up postflop. also think about how much you reduce variance.
