I actually think calling is good here for a few reasons...

1. You have position and therefore control of the hand.
2. You arent super deep so need to build a huge pot on flop.
3. 3-betting takes him out of the lead in the hand and stops him firing away with whatever crap he might have, which is not best IMO.
4. He probably overestimates his fold equity given you could easily (to him) have a marginal hand such as JQ/KQ/clubs given the action, meaning he is more likely to fire turn big.
5. And depending on turn card (i.e if you boat) you could even potentially slowplay a touch again, giving him even more chance to spew chips on river. (if you feel like being sick).

..hence why I like a call over a raise.
