After a year of university, I was pretty sure I was going to temporarily drop out, and wasn't too sure how I was going to tell my parents. I told my dad first since hes less uptight than my mom, and he told me he had spent the whole year I was gone convincing my mom to let me drop out.

My dad seems to know something about everything, and whenever I'd ask him how he knew obscure things like the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow, he'd reply "Well, you have to know these things when you're a dad you know"

Hes always treated me like an adult, and never really told me what to do, hes always given me advice and guidance, but allowed me to make all my own decisions.

When my mom was laid off from a job she didn't like, he responded with "congratulations"

He is better at looking at things from other peoples perspectives than virtually anyone.
