Ok I have been reading and looking into the math of this decision.

MP3 is a late middle position. He only raises to 6000 (the min). What does his 6000 raise mean? I think it means he wants a caller. I cant call here that is out of the question. However If I move all in i am giving him very good odds to call. (99% of the time players will call here regardless of the odds anyways).

The Odds

Pot including antes, blinds, my stack and his raise = 22183

For him to call= 4333

Pot odds = 22183/4333= about 5 to 1 or 17%

He only needs a hand that has about a 17% chance or higher of winning. He can call with any hand.

I thought a big part of no limit was about controlling peoples odds?

The other way around i act first but with a worse hand.

I am now MP3 and MP3 takes my position on the table.

I move in blind. (don't know what I got) I move all in for 10333. Acting first I may win the pot right here (not likely) but theres still that chance.

Mp3 has to make a decision. He really doesn't know what I have. (and neither do I lol). It costs him 10333 to call.

Pot odds Pot = 16183/ call = 10333 = 1.5 to 1 or 40%.

Now also if he just calls the BB SB or button may call behind him or re raise. If he re raises,he will be risking his stack because there is still three players to act behind him. In the first case the decision was easy for him. Here it is a lot harder. Here acting first I am controlling the situation and making it harder for my opponents to make decisions.

I know you cant be a winner in no limit if you don't gamble but wouldn't I be better off gambling in the second case rather than the first?
