Yes but wouldn't he try to bet a ten if checked to on the river? Thinking that I am checking jacks and am scared of the ace? Or even view my c/r as a bluff and bet his ten thinking it's the best hand?

I think he is much more likely to check behind with tens than to randomly turn his hand into a bluff since he has showdown value with it.
His most likely hand is JJ-KK, or A10, all of which probably don't fold to your river lead.
Besides A10 the other three check behind and you lose a lot of value but likely won't fold to a river bet since your botched raise on the turn looks, to me anyway, like an attempt for a cheap showdown instead of a set.
