When maniacs will push you very hard and never fold unless you show extreme strength it's usually better to overlimp in position with drawing hands and build the pot once you've hit and raise hard preflop with hands that have showdown value. It's a very transparent way of playing but will work very well against maniacs who just want raise the [censored] out of you.
