I didn't mean to imply that the non-tribal card rooms were shady or dangerous in any way. I spend a ton of time in them and never feel like I am in any danger. They are just small and do not have the big casino feel. Typically you are talking about 2-5 poker tables and 5-20 non-poker tables. I interpreted the OP to mean that he was looking for more of a Vegas style casino.
