Depends how long you've been sitting at a table. If you have solid stats, reads, and notes on your opponents, calling suited connectors in position isn't a bad play. Post flop it can be hard with top pair/weak kicker.

If you have basic knowledge of pot odds/implied odds/ and reverse implied odds, you can make good choices and take down some monster pots.
