Default Good spot for a river checkraise?....(400nl)

Villain is like a 44/22 donkkkkkkk.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (5 handed)

Hero ($757.50)
Button ($526.70)
SB ($396)
BB ($281.90)
UTG ($400)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $12</font>, Button calls $12, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($30) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $20</font>, Button calls $20.

Turn: ($70) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $54</font>, Button calls $54.

River: ($178) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $144</font> or checkraises....

Just seems like alot of two pair hands etc. would bet and maybe call a shove. While if I bet strong they will just call. So is a check more ideal in this spot?
