Why would they risk it for your small sum of money. If you dont feel comfortable sending first, dont trade and find some other way of getting your money where you want.
Dont expect to come here and act like you are doing someone a favor by wanting a trade and not sending first.

For the most part I agree with you.
However, I would like to put a note of caution that there is always a certain risk involved with any transfer. Even date of registration, high post count, and lots of references do not guarantee anything - although these will certainly better your odds of an honest trade.
The greatest advice from the original post of this thread is probably this:
"You should transfer only in amounts that you are prepared to lose. Transfer in a number of small amounts if the total amount you need is more than you are prepared to risk losing."
"Let the buyer beware."
