In Daniel's defense, he is probably the biggest proponent among the committee members of good structures, and certainly the most vocal about bad structures. For instance, I doubt he would have supported the gutting of FT structures in the full table NL/PL holdem events.
Things also need to be kept in perspective. DN is only one member of an "advisory" committee. I suspect Harrahs is receptive to committee recommendations that entail little or no cost----but at the end of the day Harrahs sets the structure.
