Considering they only gave him $10 and if he really wanted to play at BODOG that bad after getting banned then he could just have signed up using a friend's name, then I'd say that informing support was by far the most -EV option.
I think people are giving a site which was dumb enough to accidentally credit somebody with $1.3M waaaay too much credit for catching the error and the OP had a significant chance of getting away with a good chunk of it before they realized (if they ever did).
As I've stated before in this thread, then at the very least it would force BODOG to spend more money on securing their systems, which requires they employ more staff, which equates to less personal profit for for the already sickeningly rich Calvin Ayre.
