I remember reading a story years ago in one of the MIT blackjack books where something happened on the casino floor and the MGM Grand invalidated all 5K/10K chips cause several tables got overturned and the high denomination chips went flying - (it was some friend of a celebrity at a high stakes table) - in the book, they were told it was company policy to void and make new chips - but they'd vouch for this blackjack player's
the guys had to funnel the chips thru a stripper - who took a cut, but vouch for some of the chips, cause they had so many in their room it would have given away the counting team.
