Default Re: Lets Play along...I have Rockets and a Fish just led out??25nl

Calling this flop was not too bad for the reasons EMc explained, but it makes it hard to get the maximum out of this if we're ahead, that is the biggest reason to bet this flop IMO. We want weaker hands, including draws to call, because we're ahead and want to stack them.

Also: what if 6d comes and villain bets? Do we just fold? Just calling here might induce a bluff on these scarecards and it's not a bluff we can easily pick off here. Villain will think twice when we raised this flop before he attempts a bluff.

Raising to $9 and betting the rest on the river will get it all in still. Of course if he 3bets this turn we are giving him credit for a bigger hand than ours.

I like a flop bet more, because we can keep more weaker hands in when we don't have to raise this much on the turn to get it in on the river. If we raise this turn and are called it's a lot harder to put the rest in on the river. We are commited though and should. Those few bucks on the flop would make the rest of the hand play a lot easyer.

This makes me think about something else (no intention to hijack here ). Playing AA on the turn is actually easyer OOP. The hands we are ahead of will probably fold/call and the others might raise. While if we had position, she bets and we raise, we are being called by both some weaker hands and stronger hands, since it takes a huge hand to reraise for most villains.
