Yea dave, I had the "legal" absinthe when I was in Winnipeg just as I turned 18. The stuff is strong as hell but is definitely not like the real Absinthe. We either had Absinthe from Spain or France at 17, and it was like 120 bucks for the bottle, but supposedly one of the better bottles.

When I start making a few grand from poker a week I'll buy a few bottles, that stuff was definitely amazing.

I'll post some links if anybody is interested in the next few days, I don't know any offhand, my friend researched it.

Also, Indy, it is dangerous. The night we had it (I had just moved to the city) there was a party near Wrigley Field. On the way my friend fell into a gated fence and had this huge bloody wound on his forehead all night. He slept on the wooden floor of my apartment that night, it was ugly.
