if you have a laptop, you simply can't have a number of external monitors.
when i suggested that 2x20" monitors was better than one 24" monitor, I had assumed that you would have sufficient dvi/vga plugs on your PC to run them. I now think I am wrong.
If you can run only one extra monitor, I guess the biggest one is best.
