Default Re: 300 BB deep PLO decision

If I got it right the situation is as follows.

potsize: 2220

your stack: 2600

his stack: 1700

You have 900 to call and put villain on a hand range that makes you approximately a 1:2 dog.

At first sight one might think it's an easy call but you often can get outplayed on the river, i.e. when the board pairs or all the draws miss and your aces are still good. You're out of position against a player you seem to respect and who probably knows this. He also has reason to put you on two aces. Hence I think a fold is at least as reasonable as a call.

One could also consider a raise, expecting villain to put both players all in. In that case you pay 2600 to win 3920, can't get outplayed but are clearly taking the worst of it. Had you potted the flop and villain then had reraised pot your stack would be small enough to raise again. But that is result oriented thinking. The flop call was fine IMO.

But that's only me. Maybe another one of the better players will find time to comment on this interesting situation.
