I think folding is EXTREMELY weak here given your read...My question is, is the opponent tricky enough to play KK like this with that kinda flop (not wanting to get heavily involved on a board like that until he sees a turn)...I think you are just giving up way too much by folding this hand...
As far as leading or checking goes...I would probably say that checking on a 5 is the line and betting on a 2/6 is the line...I don't like checking on a 2/6 because if your opponent is solid he'll probably just use that check to check back at you (based on what you said your read of the opponent was: a solid player, tricky wasn't mentioned)...
