Cap the flop in an attempt to drive out Cutoff.
He may be raising the flop with a hand like 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. There are many such hands in his preflop range and his plan would be to isolate you hoping that you have a better hand or a better spade but not both. That would give him a shot at a big pot even though he has no idea what his outs are.
Capping will make it almost impossible for him to hold such a hand and could score a huge victory by driving out the last spade and erasing as many as 11 outs.
