You have to bet this turn, you're ahead well over 50% of the time, and when you're behind, you're not saving any bets unless you're check/folding the turn which is I think a terribly weak line.
My standard line with a middle pair in this spot is C/R the flop, bet the turn, bet all but the absolute scariest of rivers.
