Default Re: Massive Turnover in Caesars Palace Staff?

And on that second night of the Miami Heat game, the timeframe I was talking about was after midnight. There were NOT a ton of tourney tables going on at that time.

So was this the All-Star Weekend Heat game, or the one that ran during WSOP-time when the Chris Webber Charity Event was in town?

I can't believe the room would be that dead, even after midnight, during the WSOP, unless it was well into the night (4amish-on), even then.

You're right, it was the week following the Chris Webber Charity event. The first night they had the game was a Monday night/Tues morn, and it continued the next night, finally breaking about 4:30am Wed morning. Keep in mind this was over a week and a half since the final table of the WSOP Main Event. And the more I think about it, there were exactly 2 tables going for the 11pm tourney, since both tourney tables were at the end of seperate strings, and TJ told both tourney dealers to go on break and he'll reassign spots after their breaks- leaving both dealers wondering who would get lucky enough to get on the 1 "good string" with the 100/200/400 NL game. And neither did. They both went on break, came back, and got reassigned to the middle of the strings they were previously on. Which benefitted TJ in another way- hopefully 1 of the tourney tables would have broken while those 2 dealers were on break, and when they get back from break, 1 of them would get sent home.

And don't get me started on their ratio of extra-board to FT dealers. I wouldn't be too surprised if they are violating labor laws as well.

Well, another thing I heard is that dealers are getting written up for minor BS left and right, especially full-time dealers.

Person(s) I talked to said they wouldn't be surprised that Jim Padulla has taken the cost-cutting as far as trying to force full-time dealers out, one way or another, so they wouldn't have to pay out as much in benefits.

But for every full timer that gets let go, they're not rehiring extra boards to fill their spots. Jim Pedulla's little "game" is as follows-
Floorpeople lose their jobs one way or another.
Then there's a sign-up sheet for recruiting dealers looking to be trained/hired as dual-rate.
If you have the balls to try and be a dual rate, with The Fuhrer as one of your immediate bosses, good luck.
Do some time as dual rate without pissing Jim off (next to impossible), then say you dont want to dual rate anymore, you just want to deal again. You'll likely get full-time dealing now. But now Pedulla hates your f*cking guts and you're now on his shitlist. F*ck up once, and you're out a job.

He feels extra board is more valuable than full timers. No benefits, no set schedules, you have to do BS jobs such as board op and chiprunning (and POOL the little tips you get doing that), keep your minimum wage, and the employee has no repercussions whatsoever.
