you don't have to worry about that. Also the yves example is totally different...that was a problem poster that kept doing stupid [censored]. This is a good poster who did one unbelievably stupid thing and apologized for it and is willing to make nice.

my point is, a guy who you just described as a "problem poster that kept doing stupid [censored]" was given a basically unlimited number of chances. doesn't that say it's pretty damn hard to get permabanned, and therefore people can basically do anything they want?

No he was certainly not given an unlimited number of chances...and even if he was given a lot of rope, Yves was the exception, not the rule and basically the last person of an era in bbv/bbv4l where after him we were a lot harsher vs. problem posters, learning from our (my) mistakes with yves and it has been working quite well. And yves has NOTHING to do with my decision whatsoever.

Yes I am more likely to give people a second chance if they're a good poster who contributes to the forum.

If you or El D want to take this to Mat or Ryan I have no problems with it and will not take offense.
