Default Re: Gus Hansen working on a book

[ QUOTE ]
Is he going to submit the manuscript to Mason? Two+two wanted a complete manuscript before deciding so we went with another publishing house - which one will be revealed very soon.

I was sent a proposal from which we couldn't tell if the book would be good or not, so as with most authors or their representatives that make contact with us, we asked to see a completed manuscript before making any decision. Make sure you tell Gus that our authors normally make about five times in royalties than they do with other publishers, and that book sales with us are normally at least twice what they would be with other publishers. All that we ask for in return is that the book be extremely good, and the only way we can assure this is to see the manuscript.

Also, I hope that a lot of our readers see this post. Gus Hansen is a big enough name that even a mediocre book by him would make money for us, but we're not in it just for the money. Of course, truly excellent books also make lots of money, and we strive for that combination and are willing to give up titles if we can't be assured that's the case.
