Default Re: Five Guys Burgers

They have two here in Charlottesville, VA (UVA). My take is that In-and-Out burgers are a little better, and both put other fast food restaurants to shame (I've also never waited more than 10 minutes).

The key to places like Five Guys and In-and-Out is that not only are they better than other fast food places, they're also better (burgerwise) than the dry and tasteless burgers you get in the large majority of sit down restaurants. With that being said, I'm sure most of us make better burgers on the grill at home than anywhere out.

Of course, the enjoyment of greasy burgers increases exponentially the drunker you are and the later at night it is. Five Guys is good for that and even better in C'ville is the Gus burger, a crappy pattie with a fried egg on top from the White Spot. The best late night drunken food is a Philly cheesesteak (made within the city limits), but that might be a genetic preference from a philadelphian.
