That would be a great thread IMO. It looks like I'm heading to France for awhile at the end of the year. I speak little to no French. I hung out France for awhile many moons ago and at the time my lack of French proficiency was a problem at times. Would have been much worse if I hadn't been traveling with someone who spoke French. This trip came up suddenly and I was wondering what I should do to pick up as much French as I can in the next 6 weeks or so. Maybe could fit this in with your thread as I wanted to start one but may be more appropriate to put in your thread.
