Default Re: Epassporte Help?

At least with Pokerstars, the most old-fashioned route has its advantages:

1) Go to your bank and get a $U.S. internatonal money order for your initial deposit. The bank service charge should be no more than a few bucks, and certainly nowhere near 10% of the deposit amount.

2) Ship it (so to speak) via FedEx or similar service to the Stars office on the Isle of Man. If you email Stars support in advance, they'll send you the mailing coordinates and details for how to fill out the "pay to ..." section of the money order.

3) Takes only a few days to process the deposit, depending on the speed with which it gets there. If you're not in a particular hurry, regular registed mail would be even cheaper.

Aside from the bank charge and mailing costs, this seems a much cheaper option than paying the fees that epassporte would charge for it to make a profit. You may also have noted a recent and credible-sounding post by Dan Druff on epassporte ... not the most reassuring reading, I'm afraid:

I may be a luddite, but this method is the least complex and least fraught with worries about getting your money out the processor, etc. The only downside, of course, is that it takes a few days to send over the item, but, as an earlier post noted, it will take some time to set up the epassporte account, too.

And - of course - since we're all winning players, we only ever need to make one initial deposit, since from that point onwards, we'll just be building the roll. ;-)
