Does anyone else have a friend who's struggling pretty bad, and needs your support and advice, but doesn't ever seem to do anything to help themselves out? Or if they do it's painfully slow and incremental. I feel like I can either give support and be invested, or just try to stay detached. I can't seem to do anything in-between. Does that make me a bad friend? It's very hard to be invested in someone who doesn't seem to want to help themselves.

Good advice Slacker.

I have several friends who are marginal players or suck at poker and none of them care to discuss hands in depth or read books, 2+2, etc. I stopped trying to help for the most part. If they want to try, I'll offer help, otherwise its a waste of time.
