these days, it'd be a combination of:
fitness
ball skills
strength
20 years ago, the game was much slower and fitness was much less important than today. Due to the free flowing nature of the game (compared to soccer or american football) there's also a lot more diversity in body types that can play - from big tall, lanky guys, through to small nimble blokes, through to solid mountains of men.
