Default Re: Foresight and the Democratic Party

[ QUOTE ]
I think this time around the Democrats will be looking further ahead than the next two years. In this vein I predict that they will not elect Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. Privately I hope they don't follow this plan and do elect her, two years with a Democraticly held House will be more than enough for America.

What's up with Pelosi that makes her worse than other people? I have seen her a couple of times and she seemed relatively non-confrontational. Keep in mind that whoever the Dems pick will become a polarizing figure just based on who they are.

From what I have seen, Pelosi can pull it off. She doesn't come off as bad as, say, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Howard Dean, or any Dem party celebrity. Ideally she could pull the same act that Christie Todd Whitman did in Jersey, and look like the victim whenever she's attacked. So who would be a better alternative than Pelosi?
