You played it better then you posted it. Sometimes you get in a spot where putting in a raise never seems to make sense. What do you do on the turn if BB bets and UTG raises? This would be unpleasant enough a spot where I think I could put in a flop raise just to prevent it. UTG could very well have AQ here and that would really suck to fold the best hand. If you get 3 bet by the BB then you can just calldown and it will cost you an extra bet but not the whole pot.
