I have a small mushroom that has been preserved in lacquer. If someone asks me what it is I tell them it is an old dried up dog's dick, but only while they are holding it.

You could get a piece of oosik. I've seen it cut and polished and used for pocket, hunting and kitchen knives. When cut and polished it looks great, and only someone familiar with it would know what you had.

edited to add:
I've only seen it in a fossilized state, several hundred years old. When cut and polished it looks like petrified wood, which would also make an interesting card protector, perfect for us old fossils who prefer limit Omaha 8/B.
