Default easy fold? 1/2 NL live...i turn a 3rd jack

here is my read on villian - sat down 2 orbits ago and has only played 1 hand. he folded after the turn in that hand. he knows the guy to my left who is the only other person at the table who has a clue how to play.

Villian limps UTG, 3 other limpers to me in the CO. I limp with JKo and small blind completes.

Flop comes J 10 5 rainbow. Checked to me and I bet $12. The blinds fold and Villian min raises to $24, everyone else folds. I call.

Turn is a J for a board of J 10 5 J. Villian checks and I bet $40 and he raises me $50 putting me all in. I call after about a minute of thinking. He shows J 10 and I get no help on the river.

Was this a very basic/ easy fold for my last $50? Or was this a case where there is so much in the pot at that point that I make a crying call? I can't beat too many hands that he has, can I?

thanks for any in put
