I think you're generally under-rolled in either case, and you're going to have to sweat a lot less hands and far higher overhead live.
Why not bust up NL100 online and build up to a more comfortable roll 1st? Live 1/2NL isn't going anywhere. I mean you're trying to choose between playing on ten buy-ins or shortstacking/ratholing.
It sounds like you're a relatively novice player, so I'd say you'd be better off as a shortstacking ratholer.
