I don't think there's anything wrong with playing fit/fold against calling stations. There's different types of calling stations you need to consider though:

1. The calling station who calls 80% PF and 20% post flop. Against these, continuation betting is key since they hold garbage most of the time, and are themselves playing fit/fold. i.e. they will fold anytime they missed the flop. You should be cbetting them, and value betting your strong hands because they're likely not going away (OMG I MADE A HAND OMG OMGOMG)

2. The calling station who plays 80% pre flop, 80% post flop. Against these, cbetting is useless. He's not paying attention, he is clicking call. Mind you, against these, I will often get it in even with bottom pair or AK on dry boards, but I will not do a standard cbet, to me AK/bottom pair = the nuts against them
