on jackpots:

an old regular at a local casino in OK pointed this out to me once, and i thought it was a decent ideal.

if you're going to have a jackpot, why not keep it small (like A's full of T's beaten)?

these huge jackpots that get up to 50k plus are bad for the poker economy imo. if someone wins 25k, odds are that they are going to go buy something nice with it, and the money will never again circulate throughout the poker room.

otoh, say you win 2-3k, there's a good chance you'll be adding it to your poker bankroll, and it will continue to be part of a game.

of course, this was for a casino in oklahoma where a majority of players are regs, and i think it was a great idea.

i don't know how well this would hold true in a place like vegas where a majority of players are tourists.
