A local hospital (Provena in Champaign, IL) is holding a charity poker tourney the night before I head to Elizabeth, Indiana for the WSOP-C event.
Their Main Event has a $150 entry fee with 1st place paying $10,000
I was considering playing in this as a "warm-up", until I discovered only 39% of the entry fees is being paid out in the prize pool.
I realize it's a charity event, but since 71% is being skimmed off the top, I figured it's just too steep to overcome.
