i finally found a way to get all the data i want and am now building a beautiful updatable excel file that is mad easy (i.e. even i can do it)...
go to
www.economagic.com and sign up for $50.00
then go to the "Excel" menu item.
then go to "more" in the first sentence.
right click the thing that ssays "right click to download macro"
save it to wherever you want and open it up (it is an actual excel file that saves the macro just to that excel file and won't open in every new sheet you make). i.e. if you want to make many workbooks, just save it a bunch of different times.
the file is very self explanatory and you have a choice of literally tens of thousands of data series.
absolutely amazing for just 50bucks a year.
