Minor Tunica Basics trip report.

Spent the day today in Tunica, Mississippi. That's the 2nd time I've been down there since I've been in Memphis. It's less than an hour drive and is Interstate all the way.

There are 9 casinos in the area. They aren't "in" the city of Tunica. They are kind of spread out in a pretty rural(ish) area. Resorts (lame) and Hollywood (lame) are within walking distance of each other. Sam's Town is across the street, but you still have to drive between there and here.

Sheraton, Gold Strike, and Horseshoe are lined up in a row and are an easy walk between casinos. This was my favorite area there. Fitz and Bally's are near the other's but it's still a drive, not a walk. The Grand Casino is way off in the boonies by itself.

I'm a buffet junkie. First time I was there I ate at the Grand and they had a great variety and it was all pretty good. Today I ate at the Sam's Town buffet because they feature Corky's BBQ, which is one of the best BBQ places in the area. Lunch was OK.

I didn't really visit the poker rooms other than to take a looksee cuz I didn't really want to think about poker when I went. But, I *think* every casino had one and spread NL *I think*

Deadest casinos: Resorts, Hollywood, Bally's and Sheraton.

Most active casinos: Horseshoe, Grand and Gold Strike.

Bally's hotel is not connected to the casino and it's not even walkable.

Won $315 at craps (playing small, $5-$20 bets). (which, tbh, seems like a much bigger deal than winning $1k playing 1/2 online) I had a real nice roll going and after it was done the guy next to me colored up and they gave him 5 $1K chips, at least 3 of that from my roll. I couldn't think of a cute funny and hopefully successful way of getting him to slip one of them my way.
