They will be nothing alike at all. I can't imagine there are any similarities except that Chen's book may show you how to calculate EV, and Yao's does that too.

My understanding is that Chen's book is essentially THE math textbook for poker. This is not going to be a book for the masses. I'm expecting calculus, algebra, and statistics - all at the college level.

I may be wrong though, but that is my understanding.
