This is a very good talk. Top notch. You guys are letting ideological concerns plug your ears. His analysis of world affairs is consistently precise and accurate.

Does Chomsky say anything that isn't in the bible? I'm not religious, however, if we all lived by the 10 commandments, wouldn't the world's woes be cured?

Does he not have such a strong following because the very threat he refers to is so much more evident than it was in the 80's when we were a materialist nation?

How many of those people in that audience do you think will make true sacrifices in an effort to achieve the goals he promotes?

The majority of the hippies and flower children of the 60's are very well off today, having realized they couldn't cut off the head of Monster and melted into society.

How is Chomsky's followers going to be different?

Isn't he just saying the same things that are in the bible, only in a different verse? The bible didn't succeed? How will he?

Because he's smarter than god? At least he thinks so.

Quit trolling, we understand you dislike Chomsky.

Sure, you could consider Chomsky as having religious-like followers, but, Chomsky has consistently stated that he is opposed to any guru-like status attributed to him and does not seek it. He has stated that he bases his morality on the 'Ethic of reciprocity'; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"- so I guess you could draw some similarities with what he is saying and a very simple interpretation of the bible.

I doubt you can find a contradiction between what Chompsky says and what is said in the bible. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

There is a reason people follow others preachings. Find the reason they do, and you have the tool needed to get your own massive following. Just don't use it to buy a 23k toilet make out of marble. Please.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, several preachers are under the microscope by some in congress as to what they are doing with the donations. One has 23k toilet.

I believe you really need to be careful when it comes to putting all of your beliefs in one basket, i.e. conservatism, socialism, religious preference etc.

When you don't keep an open mind, you only limit yourself.
