Default Re: Pacino vs. DeNiro

I think you guys need to weigh in the number of crap projects they've undertaken. DeNiro in the last ten years has made a huge amount of absolutely worthless movies which he sleepwalked through for the paycheck. Rocky and Bullwinkle, Godsend, Hide and Seek, Analyze That, also Shark's Tale if you include voiceovers. He added absolutely nothing to these movies and played a parody version of himself in half of them.

Pacino on the other hand has consistently picked good movies with interesting roles. His biggest fault is probably that S1mone movie or maybe that one where he recruits Colin Farrel for the CIA. Even in his "bad" movies his presence was for the most part enjoyable as hell. Devil's Advocate anyone?

In terms of good movies/lifetime I'd say Pacino wins. The last time DeNiro did any real acting was probably in Wag the Dog. Al Pacino played the world's most badass homophobic/gay/AIDS victim/tycoon in Angels in America while Deniro was voicing a cartoon shark. No contest.
