IMO, the FT structure was changed so that there would be less to film and that the "exciting" hands (all-in confrontations, monster bluffs etc) would be seemingly more common and thus entertaining to those who are watching.

I suspect you are correct regarding the truncating of the the FT structure (i.e. ESPN/internet broadcast related).

I disagree that ALL pros are good/great post flop players, or that all pros are better post-flop players than pre-flop players. In addition, players can have different views and different agendas. For instance some would take a worse structure in return for not having to play a long day. Not everyone thinks like Shaniac, myself and most people on this forum.
