not to hijack, but people who ride motorcycles say this all the time. To me it just sounds like BS dick waving. Is it really the norm to run from the police on a crotch rocket?

its really the norm that by the time the overheads go on and the cop starts rolling you are 4 exits down and out of sight. You pull off, park the bike somewhere a little out of sight and have a cup of coffee. They saw a bike doing 120, they didnt see the plates.
