Having played at LC on several occasions, I know lots of the players are VERY loose. Based on that thought... you probably could have gotten one or two fewer callers by raising UTG to $25 or $30... overbet, perhaps, but v. loose players, it might be worth protecting your hands a bit more.

In your situation, with the Villain calling from early position, I would put him on Ax, KQs, or pocket pair. I can easily see a big pocket pair being just called to build a pot. I'm not saying I agree with that, but can see it being done from early position.

After the flop, we have a SB lead out, and your raise. What kind of hand would he have to have to just call? I'm thinking set or straight... 57, doubtful... 88, 66, or 44? Possibly. A6 is definately a possibility, but would someone call $125 with second pair after a bet and raise? If I had an over pair, I'd re-raise here to see where I'm at... but there could also be a smooth call to build the pot or to "set a trap" v. drawing hands.

Turn comes a 6 to pair the board. Now the you have wonder whether he called $125 with A6... which would warrant his re-raise with three 6s. 88, 66, and 44 are probably not likely, since he'd be trying to let both of you catch up with a monster. Over pair could also warrant a re-raise... thinking that if you had over pair, he had the position to put you all in and make a decision... possibly his only play to take the pot.

So at this point, my thinking is that he's either got A6 or over pair... with AA and A6 as winning hands and 1010, JJ, QQ and KK as losing hands (for him) you've got about a 2-1 chance for winning/tying him for $155 more. 1055/155... more than 6-1 pot odds... I'd call.

But getting back to what you should have done? With $455 in the pot and $355 in your stack, I would have checked and waited for him to bet. If he had a monster he would probably check (free card for you), a huge bet would probably signal a weaker hand (possibly warranting a call by you), anything in between, at least you can get away from your hand "cheaply," but you give him the opportunity to make a mistake.
