if you're still stuck, it was determined that this error (for the most part) is caused by upgrading to the newest AIM (6.5 i think?). search for +vista +aim +"windows media player", i think, there's a thread on the microsoft support forums.
they have a workaround, but this problem still doesn't have a solution i think
