Default 25NL: flop pair and flush draw, misplay on board pair?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $28.10
<u>Hero (BB): $24.10</u>
<u>UTG: $10.05</u>
MP: $25.40
CO: $24.65
BTN: $24.40

Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG calls $0.25, 4 folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.60) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $0.45</font>, UTG calls $0.45

Turn: ($1.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $1.10</font>, <font color="red">UTG raises to $4.80</font>, Hero calls $3.70
Uncalled bet of $0.00 returned to Hero

River: ($11.10) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets all-in for $18.60</font>, UTG calls all-in for $4.55
Uncalled bet of $0.00 returned to Hero

Pot Size: $20.20 ($1 Rake)

UTG had 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (a full house, Sixes full of Queens) and WON (+$9.15)
Hero had 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ([8c 9c] a flush, King high) and LOST (-$10.05)

When he raised on the Q, I was pretty sure I was beat, but I knew I wasn't drawing dead and had decent implied odds. How do you think this hand played out, given that it's an unraised pot preflop? Middle to bottom pair with a flush draw is a hand I've had trouble with in the past..
