I very much agree. I think Dan and Bill wanted to start off with the real basics. The book certainly transitions into much more interesting and complicated situations. But if I picked this up in a bookstore and, as often would be the case, flipped over to the first problem, I'd be rather uninterested in reading further. Of course, that would be their lost.
