Wow, that's crazy. They offered him $30 million a year once the contract was out and he wouldn't even meet with them. The 12 years at $360 million figure doesn't sound too bad until you realize that A-Rod will be 44 when the contract ends. He'd be the highest-paid player in baseball when he was so old he'd be lucky if he could handle 300 AB as a DH.
