This happened to me about a year ago. I was playing one of those re-buy tourneys down in Tunica and got to the final table, top 9 pay out. I am pretty short at this point. Well one guys busts in 10th place so I am happy I have made the money because it was a crazy tourney and I was one of the shorties. Anyway, 9th place bust out and the 2 chip leader proceed to make a deal with all of us. I agree to take 1200 dollars instead of the petty 200 or so I would have gotten for 8th place if I busted.
