FYI, we received permission from the gaming commission to increase the number of tables we have on-site. We now have 35 tables and will accomodate 350 players plus 30 alternates.

As of writing, we have 335 registrations (now closed for today) and 15 seats available for the first people in line tomorrow morning.

Considering that this event was announced only 4 weeks ago, a field over 350 players has to be considered by industry observers, even those with the most demanding standards, to be an enormous success.

I have been on the ground in Macau for a little over a day. Everything about the APPT Macau - Asian Poker Open, including the facilities at the hotel/casino, the organization, and the anciliary events surrounding the actual tournament itself, have been up to the high standards one would expect to encounter at a first-rate professionally-run televised poker tournament held in North America.

Congratulations again to Jeffrey Haas, Sarne Lightman, Elton Tsang, Matt Savage, Jack Fox, Gary Woollard, and the entire supporting cast for pulling off what is truly an historic event in the poker world: the first ever televised Texas Hold'em tournament in the biggest and most lucrative gambling market in the world, the Macau Special Adminstrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
